Welcome to our interactive Weather Map. At Newstalk, we are taking a new approach to bringing you weather information. We are giving you a way to submit your own weather observations onto our interactive Weather Map below using your favorite social media channels. We hope this will provide real time insight into dynamic weather conversations, videos and photos as they happen across the map, locally here in Ireland or in response to global weather events.

If you would like to join in the weather conversation, simply post items to Twitter, YouTube or FlickR using the #weather tag and they will automatically display on the map. You will need to add a location to your items using the instructions below the map for the relevant social media platform so that we know where to position your observation.

To use the Weather Map, pan and zoom to your area of interest. Click on a social media icon to see Tweets, Video or Photo resources at a particular location.

Newstalk and Esri Ireland have been working together on a number of initiatives with the theme of "Everything happens somewhere". Combining broadcast media with the use and application of geographic information means Newstalk listeners can engage, interact and gain real insight into dynamic trends as they happen across the digital map. To work with more than one image you can open Organizr and find the photo(s) you want to place on the map using Findr. Click the Map tab. Then, go to a location where you took your photo(s) by using either the "Find Location" box in the top right of the tab or the pan/zoom tools to browse to the location. When you've found the location, drag the photo(s) from the Findr and drop it on the map.
